Most popular occupations with women born between 1821 and 1850
More Massachusetts women in A Woman of the Century were born between 1821 and 1850. As those in the previous generation did, these multitasking women juggled a variety of occupations and causes, while often having families as well. Authorship continued to be the most popular profession, while reform (Antislavery, temperance, and women's suffrage) and education were also activities that many of these women participated in. In addition to the professions chosen by earlier women, some Massachusetts natives who were born during this time period were involved in law, music, science/inventions, and business/banking.
