Most popular occupations with women born through 1820

     Writing, Reform, and Education were the most popular choices during the period up to 1820, with both married and single women participating in these occupations.  Only one of the women who was a teacher ever married.  She would have had to give up her position upon marriage, while the other women were able to continue with their teaching careers.
